Dale is a Canadian born and raised in Japan. He also became an American in 2018. He has been a missionary to Japan for 41 years, now working out of Maine USA taking 3 trips a year to Tokyo. He holds a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (2000).

- CHURCH PLANTING with his wife:
- Planted Mission Bible Fellowship (Mission BC Canada) during pastoral internship 1981, at that time an EFC of Canada church.
- Planted Owariasahi EFC (greater Nagoya) 1986-1994 (7 yrs.).
- Planted Sunrise Chapel (Higashimurayama, Tokyo) 1999-2004 (4 yrs.).
- Pastored the English Department of Musashino Chapel Center (Tokyo Musashino EFC) 2007-2010 (3 yrs.) with a view toward together starting TMC.
- Planted Tokyo Multicultural Church, launched out of their apartment complex (2013-present). Dale continues to oversee TMC’s church planting team until his replacement is found.
- MISSIONARY LEADERSHIP:
- Japan field leader of EFC America ReachGlobal for 5 years through 1994.
- President of Japan Evangelical Missionary Association for 8 years through 2016 and Vice President for 2 years through 2018.
- With his wife, Asia Regional Coordinators of EFC Canada ServeBeyond for 7 years, through April 2025 (Tokyo, Taipei, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, and Manila).
- THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION:
- Adjunct at Tokyo Christian University for 5 years through 2009, teaching theology of church and historical theology.
- Adjunct at ACTS Seminaries (Canada) for 1 year, teaching Theology of Church Planting in 2016.
- Adjunct at Japan Bible Seminary in Tokyo for 23 years through 2024, teaching Contemporary Theology (in Japanese).
